Young India Scholar is an initiative led by a group of people with a vision to reshape the Indian education system. At the core of YIS is the belief that learnings generated by Humanities and Social sciences lead to highly noble and pragmatic ways of integrating knowledge in human endeavors to build sustainable and peaceful futures. It promotes knowledge traditions within these broader pursuits of expertise by training early researchers in rigorous, systematic, and scientific thinking, writing, and publishing original, ethical and pragmatic research in these disciplines.

YIS offers a range of programs to promote and integrate practical knowledge at both higher and secondary levels of education. At higher levels, it aims to provide scholars with efficient, technology-based research management and writing workshops to improve academic life and build their professorship profiles by introducing scholars to a cutting-edge research craft. Apart from providing research training, YIS provides emerging scholars an opportunity to share their knowledge with different societal stakeholders.

Another vision that YIS works upon is the re-evaluation and re-conceptualization of the importance of humanities and social sciences education at the school levels, where knowledge biases continue to undermine the significance of holistic and pragmatic learning. It offers specifically targeted workshops for teachers and students to re-orient their understanding and knowledge of the importance of their disciplines.YIS shares a strong belief in the New Education policy’s 2020 advice on integrating knowledge by loosening disciplinary boundaries. YIS believes that the future of both learning and the human race depends not upon the instrumental but critical use of reason.
